Exchanges and Dual Degrees

As a student at CEU Business School, you have the opportunity to spend a semester at one of our prestigious partner schools in North American or Western Europe at no additional tuition cost. Please note however that while tuition costs are waived, candidates must cover all other expenses such as travel and living.

These exchange opportunities are available to both full and part-time students, but only after completion of the core curriculum. This policy allows students to fully leverage their learning education experience abroad by giving them full access to the rich selection of electives available at our partner schools.

The following partner institutions are currently available to CEU Business School students as Exchange Opportunities:

  • Case Western Reserve University (USA)
  • Schulich School of Business, York University (Toronto, Canada)
  • Copenhagen Business School (Copenhagen, Denmark); language: English
  • ESC (Grenoble, France); language: French and English
  • FUNDESEM (Alicante, Spain); language: Spanish
  • University of Birmingham Business School (Birmingham, UK); language: English
  • ENPC Paris (France); language: English
  • EM Lyon (France); language: English
  • WHU Koblenz (Germany); language: English and German

The Business School also has three dual degree programs

The first is with the Technical University of Freiberg, Germany for an MBA/Diplomkaufmann. The first four modules of the program are taken in Budapest, where the required core MBA classes are completed. The second academic year is spent in Freiberg, where CEU students are required to take two courses from the field of 'General Economics'. In addition, they must complete two specializations (majors) in Business Administration as well as a third in an elective field (which may also be in Business Administration). In the fifth semester students write their diploma thesis, typically in combination with an internship.

Proficiency in German is a prerequisite for a successful foreign study at Freiberg University. To enroll, foreign students present a certificate of having taken the "German language Examination for Admission to Universities for Foreign Students" (DSH), or an equivalent.

The second dual degree is an MBA/MBA with Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. The Core MBA program is completed in Budapest, followed by 36 credits of study at the Weatherhead School. The Weatherhead School has a top-ranked MBA program, with a strong reputation for innovative curriculum design and specializations in Finance & Banking, and in Organizational Behavior. The Weatherhead School has been a long-time partner of CEU Business School, having run an AACSB-accredited joint international MBA program in Budapest between 1996 and 2003.

The third dual degree opportunity is provided with Emory University in Atlanta, USA. The Goizueta Business School is ranked among top US MBA programs and its student body is about one-third international. Some highlights include: strong marketing, strategy and finance concentrations; emphasis on leadership, communications and teamwork; innovative Career Management Center; and great access to faculty. The highly interactive, cooperative atmosphere leads to a lifelong international network.

In addition to these institutions, CEU Business School is continuously negotiating additional exchange partnerships with leading business schools throughout the world, and therefore, this list will be updated periodically.
